Braid Sleeve – New Micro Type
March 28th, 2010 — Accessories - Braided Loops and Braid Sleeve
Airflo new micro braid sleeve is a super thin but very strong braid sleeve that forms a super smooth joint. It is available in a choice of Clear or fluorescent Orange, which acts as a bite indicator. When using braided backing, you may insert the fly line into the backing and use a piece of this braid sleeve to form a no-knot super smooth joint. It is also used for connecting braided loops to the tip of your fly line. Do not use glue on a braid sleeve joint. The joint works by the old chinese finger grip principle and is stronger than the line or leader. If you use glue, you may prevent the clinging of the braid to the line and hence weaken the joint.
